The Asia-Pacific Scout Jamboree is a major Scouting event in the Asia Pacific Region and for the year 2012, the Sri Lanka Scout Association will be hosting the 29th APR Scout Jamboree in conjunction with the 100 Years of Scouting in Sri Lanka. The Jamboree is scheduled to be held at Gam Udawa & Kandalama sites Dambulla, Matale District in the Central Province of Sri Lanka from 31st March to 7th April 2012. The Jamboree programme will include, Opening and Closing ceremonies, adventure park (horse riding, archery, water activities), Youth Forum, friendship programme, camp Fires, APR village, sightseeing to places of World Heritage sites & many more activities. The Gold Troop of 42nd Colombo Scout Group has registered a complete unit for the Jamboree comprising of 36 Scouts & 2 Scout Leaders.
